Established in 2005 and registered under the Societies Act and the Bombay Public Trust Act, URMEE is dedicated to empowering underprivileged individuals to live with confidence and hope. Our journey began in the urban slums of Pune, where we provided life skills education to adolescent girls, equipping them with the knowledge to delay early marriage and make informed decisions about their health and futures. Driven by the belief that education is the most powerful pathway to transform lives, we expanded our comprehensive work to rural communities in 2013.
Today, our holistic approach spans several key areas: we transform education by creating joyful, inclusive learning environments and offering rich co-curricular opportunities through our HoPE Project. Our 'Swasthya Setu' health initiative connects rural populations to essential services like anemia screening and AI-enabled heart assessments. We also nurture sporting talent, strengthen school infrastructure with renovated classrooms and sanitation upgrades, and provide vital support to individuals with special needs. Beyond this, we run adult literacy programs, offer skill development/livelihood training, promote environmental stewardship, and provide crucial disaster relief. Our efforts are rooted in the simple, powerful belief that every individual deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and live with dignity.
URMEE strengthens foundational learning by partnering with schools, teachers, and communities to create joyful, inclusive, and high-quality classrooms. We focus on building literacy and numeracy, enhancing pedagogy, promoting reading culture, nurturing life skills, and offering rich co-curricular opportunities through the HoPE Project to help every child learn with confidence and curiosity.
